Process Management & Compliance

Ensuring Ongoing Cost-Effective Compliance
Business Process Management (BPM) systems are extremely useful in addressing regulation & compliance requirements since they provide companies with:
- Process maps that are always current - by definition the process flow defined in the BPM system is the one operating in the business.
- Real-time monitoring of the internal controls in those processes - because the BPM system controls the processes as they operate, reports
can be generated from the BPM databases to show the real-time functioning of controls in the processes.
- Continuous improvement - changes needed to improve the effectiveness of controls can be implemented quickly, by modifying the process flow
design and parameters in the BPM system, which then automatically updates the process operating in the business.
Effectively, use of a BPM system such as Metastorm's BPM minimises the need for static process models and narrative procedure documentation. One
great advantage of this is that it reduces the need for a 'special' project every year to bring documentation back up to date, which reduces substantially
the resource costs of compliance.
Additionally, as the above bullet points indicate, a BPM system provides advantages to a company far beyond the cost savings that can be achieved
in enforcing ongoing compliance.
SECOR provides support in the definition of business risks, the impacted business processes and required controls. We can then support the implementation
of formalised processes and associated controls either manually where warranted or via BPM to ensure effective, cost-efficient ongoing process compliance.
